Treasurer’s
report
· An anonymous gift of $5000 to the church
has been received. Gratitude was expressed.
· Following discussion it was determined
that we are financially sound now and well into the
future. The current financial report is posted with the minutes in the narthex.
Pastor’s report
· Our Easter service was well attended and the music, flowers, and message earned high praise.
Post-service events were enjoyed as well.
Trustees
· Ron is working with Todd Crooks making
plans to repair the pavement in the front walkway.
· The Youth Group will be helping with the garden cleanup and planting.
Fellowship
· On
May 20th there will be a lunch after the 10:30a.m.
service honoring our new members who have joined the church since the arrival of Pastor Donald.
· A sign up sheet for the mentoring program will be available as well.
· After service on June 10th a guest from the Kenney will
speak about retirement issues.
Outreach
· $641 was collected for One Great Hour of
Sharing.
· Mary Mitchell is sponsoring a sock collection for Nickelsville after hearing of this need from residents.
· A group from our church will be joining Duwamish
Alive! for a cleanup and removal of invasive plants at Seacrest Park on April 21st.
· Through April there will be matched funds for all donations to the White Center
Food Bank.
· The Pacific Northwest Conference of UCC has created an Ecology Ministry Center at Pilgrim Firs. They are asking for
representation at a conference on April 21-22. It is hoped all churches will participate.
· After service on June 3rd we will observe Integrity of Creation with Kendall Baker giving a presentation on
Rain Forests. A soup luncheon will follow.
· On May 27th a Strengthen the Church offering will focus
on renewal and development.
Christian Education
· Camp Sunday will be April 22nd hosted
by the youth. Extensive plans are being made and a picnic will follow the service.
Personnel
· Hannah Rockel has been approved for substitute sitter in
the nursery.
